Geotab is currently hiring a Corporate Development Analyst for its Ontario team, with Oakville and Toronto listed as Canadian work locations. The role is a permanent full-time opportunity within Corporate Development and is focused on investment strategy, transaction analysis and portfolio support.
The current employer application page is live and allows candidates to submit directly through Geotab’s Greenhouse recruitment system. Geotab publishes a Canadian hiring range of CAD 105,600 to CAD 125,600 per year for the position.
This role is suitable for candidates with experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, transaction advisory or another environment where financial modelling, valuation and strategic investment decisions form an important part of the work.
Opportunity Overview
The Corporate Development Analyst helps Geotab identify and evaluate strategic investments that can support the company’s growth. The work includes researching markets, understanding competitive dynamics and identifying businesses or technologies that may fit Geotab’s investment thesis.
The analyst also supports active transaction work. This means turning research into financial models, valuations, investment recommendations and materials that senior decision makers can use during deal evaluation.
Available Position
- Position: Corporate Development Analyst
- Employer: Geotab
- Locations: Oakville and Toronto, Ontario
- Employment: Permanent Full Time
- Area: Operations / Corporate Development
- Job Reference: 5192173008
- Hiring Range: CAD 105,600-125,600 per year
Key Responsibilities
The analyst studies industry trends, Geotab’s competitive strengths and strategic opportunities to identify potential investment targets. Maintaining relationships with investment banks, boutique M&A advisory firms and strategic partners is also part of generating deal flow.
Once an opportunity is identified, the analyst can participate in transaction execution and take responsibility for assigned components of the deal process. Financial analysis and modelling are used to test assumptions and support investment decisions.
The role also supports corporate reporting and Investment Committee materials and can assist the Chief Corporate Development Officer with portfolio-company oversight, including information needed for board or observer responsibilities.
Who Can Apply?
Geotab’s role is best suited to candidates who already understand investment analysis and can work with financial statements, valuation assumptions and strategic business cases. Relevant backgrounds can include corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategy consulting or transaction advisory.
Applicants should be comfortable researching unfamiliar markets, structuring an analytical problem and explaining conclusions to senior stakeholders. Strong writing and presentation skills matter because investment decisions need clear, concise supporting materials.
Financial and Strategic Skills
Financial modelling should be presented as a practical skill rather than a spreadsheet buzzword. Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they built a model, what assumptions mattered and how the analysis influenced a transaction or recommendation.
Experience with valuation, due diligence, market sizing, portfolio analysis and executive presentations is useful. The analyst also needs to collaborate with legal, finance, product, engineering and other teams depending on the investment opportunity.
Salary and Work Environment
The published annual hiring range is CAD 105,600-125,600. Geotab notes that final compensation can depend on skills, qualifications, education, experience, location and internal equity.
Geotab operates a flexible hybrid model and provides eligible permanent employees with programs such as home-office reimbursement, medical and dental benefits, retirement savings, learning opportunities and other employee benefits.
Application Status
The Geotab Greenhouse application form is currently available and the role appears in the employer’s active Canadian openings. The posting is described as an existing vacancy. No fixed closing date is published, so candidates should apply while the employer form remains open.
How to Apply
Apply directly through Geotab’s official Greenhouse application for job reference 5192173008. Tailor the resume around financial modelling, valuation, investment research, transaction execution and the measurable impact of previous corporate-development or deal work.
Tips for Applicants
Quantify deal exposure
Mention transaction size, number of opportunities evaluated, portfolio scale or analytical scope where the information can be shared appropriately.
Show how analysis changed a decision
Instead of only listing modelling, explain how your work influenced valuation, deal structure, target prioritization or an investment recommendation.
Prepare an investment thesis example
Be ready to explain how you would evaluate a new market or target, including strategic fit, financial attractiveness, risks and potential synergies.
Final Notes
This is a new role for the additional batch and does not repeat the Geotab Lead Software Developer article already prepared earlier. The employer’s direct application form is active and shows the current Canadian salary range.
