What Pre-Apprentices Do

Participants support line-truck operations and work as drivers and ground persons while learning the fundamentals of distribution construction, maintenance and operations.

Training can include climbing, safe use of tools and materials, bucket-truck work and assisting with installation or removal of poles, anchors, transformers and other line equipment.

The program gives candidates the chance to demonstrate safety, work habits and mechanical aptitude before progressing further in the trade pathway.
